After nine or so months of pregnancy and then birthing a baby, you’ll be forgiven for wanting to get yourself back to full health, or you may even be considering a new diet or exercise programme. Here’s some great tips to help you on your way: Take Your Time There’s really no rush to fit … Continue reading Finding your health after pregnancy – a guest post

12 weeks? No thanks…..

July 20, 20171 Comment

I need to head this up with this point of clarification - I am not pregnant, I have no intentions of being pregnant and this isn't any form of announcement that I am pregnant. Got it? All clear? That being said I was chatting to someone recently who is in the early stages of pregnancy … Continue reading 12 weeks? No thanks…..

How to identify a tantrum

November 4, 2015November 4, 20151 Comment

All hail the mighty crap storm that is a tantrum. No matter if your tiny human is 2 years old or 6 years old they will still be able to floor you with displays of pure rage that generally come from nowhere at all.

The Car Seat Geek

September 24, 2015September 24, 2015Leave a comment

I recently ran a car seat Q&A on my Facebook page. The world of car seats is such a confusing place to be and in my experience it is also a world full of guilt. When we brought our daughters car seat we got the best our budget could stretch to but like many parents … Continue reading The Car Seat Geek

Dear Mum in the car park

August 3, 2015August 3, 2015Leave a comment

I saw you today. I saw you walking back to your car full of guilt and uncertainty. I saw you wipe a tear as you got into your car. I saw you sit in the car taking a deep breath. I saw you doubt your decision to put your precious child into the hands of … Continue reading Dear Mum in the car park

Thanks Dad

June 21, 2015January 4, 2019Leave a comment

I didn't send my Dad a Fathers Day gift this year - I looked around and saw lots of little things but nothing that really spoke to me about my Dad. My Dad is a very clever man who is good with words so the best gift I could think to give him were some … Continue reading Thanks Dad

Friendships – it’s a two way thing

June 19, 2015June 19, 2015Leave a comment

When you decide to have children everything changes and it's really easy to assume that because your life has changed everything around you will as well. You sort of expect your work to adapt to you, your friends to understand that you won't be at the pub every night anymore and your bank to understand … Continue reading Friendships – it’s a two way thing

Don’t ask me if I’m having more children

June 18, 2015January 4, 2019Leave a comment

I mean it . Please stop asking. I'm the very proud and happy mother to a nearly 3 year old whirlwind who each and every day makes me feel utter happiness and utter despair. Usually within 5 minutes of each other. My daughter is brilliant and she lights up my day and my life but … Continue reading Don’t ask me if I’m having more children

Dads don’t babysit their children

June 9, 2015January 4, 20197 Comments

A friend of mine is turning 30+10 this week so we are off for a spa day and drinks in the evening to celebrate. As a stay at home mum who barely has time to wash her hair on a regular basis I'm incredibly excited about spending a day without a wet wipe or nappy … Continue reading Dads don’t babysit their children

The things I didn’t expect

April 27, 20151 Comment

When I found out I was pregnant I was overwhelmed and surprised but I didn't have any worries about the actual parenting element of being a Mum. I figured that it was natural instinct and while I knew it would be hard and there would be difficult days I just assumed some primal maternal instinct … Continue reading The things I didn’t expect

Every year I make a birthday bucket list with up to 6 things I want to do before my next birthday. Tomorrow I get to tick another one off - an open top bus tour of London with @theoriginaltour . I used to see their buses go by when I worked there and always thought they were such a great idea and a brilliant way to see the city. When you work in London it's really easy to get blinkers and just miss so many of the fantastic attractions and beautiful buildings all around us.🇬🇧🇪🇺 I did loads of research on tour companies and they turned out to be the best priced for wide range of routes. They go everywhere!🚐 Very excited to go and be a tourist in the city for a day 🏫 #london #city #tour #tourist #bus #halfterm #familydays #familytrip #family #ukblogger #ukbloggers #bucketlist #birthdaybucketlist #list #todo #explore #excited #fun #february #happy #ukparentblogger #ukparentbloggers
It's shocking to hear that in a recent study 51% of the population (woman and men) have either had direct experience of period poverty or know someone who has 😧 I hadn’t realised the extent of the problem; how something that’s natural and out of a woman’s control have such a negative impact on so many people. Some things in life shouldn’t be a luxury- your period is one of them. That’s why I want to share with you a campaign called Bloody Big Brunch; where 300 brunches will be held around the UK in March to help 10,000 women. Guest can pay for bloody (or virgin) Mary’s with period products! This is a hard hitting great initiative, if you are interested head to www.bloodybigbrunch.com to sign up 👍 Credit- words stolen from @dralexgeorge as he has put it so much better than I could. So go on ladies and gents - get organising your events and lets make a difference #bloodybigbrunch #notanadvert #notanad #charity #periodpoverty #womensupportwomen #period #ukblogger #ukparentblogger #ukbloggers #ukparentbloggers #event #together #party #women #support #bloodymary #love #
Tiara Friday. Pushing myself out of my comfort zone in my work life so the tiara goes on. Its hard to challenge yourself but in my experience everything is easier in a tiara. Challenge is good. Change is good. Tiaras are good. Keep pushing yourself out of your comfort zone. #challenge #tiara #friday #happy #crown #selfie #queen #work #career #working #ukblogger #motivation #comfort #comfortzone #push #forward #ukparentblogger
Ah battleropes. When @thesixpackrevolution set us up and we met for the first time I just wasn't sure if we were meant to be but 4 weeks later I'm happy to say I love you. You take all my stress, all my insecurities and all my fear and make it all disappear. All those feelings gone and replaced with sweat and I'm lighter because of it. At times I don't understand you and get frustrated with you but I'm only human. I never mean the words I say when we are together.....can't repeat any of them on here as they aren't family friendly 🤬 So thanks for the introduction- I'm hoping this is the start of a long and happy relationship ❤ 😂😂😂😂 Today's workout was a combination of slams, squats and kicks repeated 100 times. Anything upstairs or on the floor is dead to me for the next 24 hours 😂 #battleropes #workout #stress #destress #anger #calm #squats #slams #shoulders #arms #leadarms #leadlegs #fattofit #love #truelove #valentine #bemyvalentine #gettingfit #gettinghealthy #ukblogger #ukbloggers #ukparentbloggers #ukparentblogger #happy #heart #smile #selfie
You are wonderful - you don't need a card or some flowers to tell you that. Buy yourself some flowers, treat yourself to dinner and be kind to yourself. ❤ #valentines #valentinesday2019 #selfcare #bekind #selfworth #ukblogger #ukparentblogger #selfworth #iweigh #love #believe #flowers #chocolates #jewelry #diamonds #gifts #beyourself #loveyourself #galentinesday #ukbloggers #ukparentbloggers
Well today on day 31 of 90 I fell off the SPR wagon. I wasn't feeling good and ate off plan. Its not good but its not a disaster either- just need to pick myself up, dust myself off and try harder tomorrow. This plan is just as much about the mental as the physical and today I did all the physical stuff but didn't look after the mental stuff. Tomorrow will be better. Tomorrow after some sleep I'll reassess, distress, write a list to find out what I'm really freaking out about and I'll just try harder. Writing today off as a bad day but I'm only allowing myself one day like this. I've worked too hard over the last 30 days to mess it up now. #spr #sixpackrevolution #fail #suceed #tomorrowisanewday #day 31 #fallingdown #takeamoment #takeabreath #itsoktofall #break #rest #tired #ohdear #badday #failing #findthesilverlining #plantosucceed @thesixpackrevolution #ukblogger #ukbloggers #ukparentbloggers #ukparentblogger #strength #selfcare #mentalhealth #chinup
Daily push ups are now starting to inflict punishment. Hoping to nip it in the bud with these but a massage is needed to work the muscles out. #ouch #muscles #ache #neck #shoulders #pushups #daily
Day 30 of SPR and here is my round, sweaty, unflattering and unfiltered face post HIIT workout 😂 Feeling pretty proud of myself - the last 30 days have been exceptionally hard work with very specific food plans, intense workout challenges and daily squats and press ups. I have strange cravings- oranges, apples and frankly I'd murder a bacon sandwich most days 😂 But on the plus side - I'm impressing myself every single day. Each challenge and each day I tell myself I can't do it but here I am doing it anyway! Apart from burpees and inchworms which I lack the coordination for 😂 Each day is hard but I can't ignore the now visible weight loss, fact I'm sleeping better and feeling healthier than I have done in the last 10 years. That little bug in my ear telling me I can't do it is getting quieter. I'm learning to believe in myself and that's a wonderful feeling. So here is to to the next 60 days- I've made it this far so I can't see me stopping now. P.S do you like how Miss MIP Ikea car mat is also my workout mat? 😂 #gettingfit #gettinghealthy #spr #sixpackrevolution #weightloss #workout #exercise #happy #selfcare #running #run #hiit #hiitworkout #ukblogger #ukparentblogger #ukbloggers #ukparentbloggers #fattofit #motivated #motivation #health #exercise @ikeauk @thesixpackrevolution #nofilter #selfie #proud
